WXMY Radio BIG Whoopsy
Jeff Raynor, 45, the owner and operator of radio station WXMY in Saltville, Virgina has been busted on allegations of soliciting sex with a child and possession of child pornography.
Raynor came to the attention of authorities when the Keene New Hampshire Police Department contacted a Smyth County, Virginia investigator with information obtained during an internet child-predator sting operation in New Hampshire.
From there it was like a snowball rolling down hill as deputies visited the radio station, search warrant in hand, seeking computer records and other items that may contain evidence of the crimes with which Raynor is now accused.
Raynor is being held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail, facing up to 35 years in prison and the radio station is off the air indefinitely.
The really bad news for Raynor and his listeners is that the DA is talking about more charges and a grand jury investigation.
