8 Hours 20 Cops and 12 Johns

Monday must have been a slow day for crime in Davenport, Iowa.

We write that because the Davenport Police had the resources to devote to a prostitution sting in downtown Davenport between 4:00 and midnight and using twenty officers. The sting managed to scoop up 12 alleged johns and 1 female for a total of thirteen misdemeanor arrests at the expense of 160 hours of police work.

The female arrested twice during the operation, Melissa Ford Ford, is the estranged-wife of one of the alleged johns, Lee Ford. The couple was already scheduled to appear in court over a temporary protective order for ‘relief from domestic abuse.

Melissa was reportedly arrested once for warning a man that the woman he was talking to was an undercover officer. She was later arrested again, for interference with official acts and harassment of a public official.

And all the unlucky arrestees managed to get their names and mugshots in the local newspaper.

Whoopsy!
