Florida State Representative Bob Allen Busted
State Representative Bob Allen, 48, R-Merrit Island, Florida was arrested in Titusville and charged last month with second-degree misdemeanor solicitation for prostitution after an encounter with a Titusville detective in a public restroom at Veterans Memorial Park.
Allen allegedly offered to give the undercover police officer $20 and oral sex.
Allegedly Allen told the undercover officer, “He goes, you want $20 if i give you (oral sex). I’m like I don’t want (oral sex), but I’ll tell ya… I can give you one. What if I give you one?”
Allen who chairs the House Energy Committee and co-chairs Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign in Florida is he the Police Union’s 2007 Lawmaker of the Year, and recently sponsored a bill to crack down on soliciting sex in public parks is denying the charge and promising to fight to prove himself not guilty.
In his denials, Allen has played “the race card”, explaining his actions with “This (undercover officer) is a pretty stocky black guy, and there’s other black guys around in the park that—you know!”
Following his arrest, Allen was released on $500 bond.
Allen will make his first court appearance on August 23rd, to answer charges he offered to pay an undercover officer for oral sex.
Allen has reportedly resigned from the McCain campaign but says he will not resign from the Florida Legislature and may still run for the state senate.
Allen has labeled the entire sex scandal a big “misunderstanding”.
Reportedly police officers did not realize who had been arrested until after the arrest had been made.
