Darren Banditson Guilty
Darren Banditson, 42, of Phoenix, has pleaded guilty to one count of child solicitation following what must be one of the longest running internet sex stings in history.
Banditson was originally charged with 10 counts of child solicitation however 9 of those counts will be dropped if the judge accepts the plea deal.
Reportedly Banditson engaged in numerous instant message conversations between October 2003 and September 2006 with Carmel Police Detective Nancy Zellers, who was posing as a 13-year-old girl.
Over the course of the numerous contacts it is alleged that Banditson activated his Web cam so Zellers could watch him masturbate while he gave instructions to her to do likewise. Zellers reported that Banditson became sexually explicit with her soon after they began chatting, sent photos of himself, mailed a greeting card to Zellers and gave her his telephone number.
Eventually Branditson sent the ‘girl’ his his address in Phoenix and as they say the rest is history…
