Jay S. Hastings Guilty
Jay S. Hastings, 42, who used to be the “Grump” mascot for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees pleaded guilty Wednesday to criminal attempt at involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility for using the Internet to solicit sex from a police decoy who was posing as a 14-year-old boy online.
Hastings was busted in March by White Haven, PA police when he showed up at a mall to hook up with what he believed was a 14-year-old boy. When Hastings showed up at the mall he was reportedly driving the Yankees van.
Earlier this month Hastings pleaded guilty to the rape of a 15-year-old boy he had met online, he is pending sentencing in that case.
