William Christensen Guilty
William Christensen, 61, a former Southborough, Massachusetts Selectman has copped a plea to using the internet to set up a sexual rendezvous with an underage girl.
According the the U.S. Attorney’s office, Christensen sent photos of his genitals via the Internet to people whom he thought to be underage girls in Yahoo chat rooms in May 2006 in an attempt to solicit sex from underage girls.
A Rhode Island parent saw what Christensen was doing and pretended to be a fictional 15-year-old girl named Anne Marie and communicated online with Christensen. The parent then notified the cops, who took the hand off, assuming the identity of the imaginary Anne Marie.
Eventually a ‘meet up’ was set up between Christensen and the fictional Anne Marie near a East Providence, R.I. apartment. When Christensen showed up he was cuffed and stuffed.
Just mere days after being busted while trying to ‘hook up’ with Anne Marie in Rhode Island, Christensen was busted again, this time back home in Massachusetts in yet another sting.
In December 2006 he pleaded guilty in Plymouth Superior Court to charges of one count of enticing a minor, two counts of disseminating obscene material and one count of attempting to commit a crime.
He got off lucky in Massachusetts where he received a two-year suspended prison sentence.
He was not so fortunate with the Rhode Island case which the state turned over to the feds.
In the federal case to which Christensen just pleaded guilty he faces up to 30 years in prison and $250,000 in fines for traveling interstate to engage in sex with a minor and maximum of up to 30 years in prison and $250,000 in fines for using the Internet to entice a minor.
Christensen’s attorney, Jeffrey Pine, said his client is remorseful…
To which one might add, hclient is not only a Whoopsy!
But a “Double Whoopsy!!”
