Brian Lee Flaherty Guilty
Brian Lee Flaherty, 38, of Chino Hills, California, a 6 year-veteran Los Angles firefighter, pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to flying to Detroit to have sex with a 5-year-old girl.
Flaherty was caught up in the same Macomb County Michigan Sheriff’s Department and FBI Internet sting operation that led to charges last month against John David “Roy” Atchison, a federal prosecutor from Gulf Breeze, Fla.
Flaherty, an LA firefigher and paramedic, who has been in custody since his arrest in February admitted using the Internet to try to entice a minor under 18 to have sex, a charge that carrys a minimum 10-year prison sentence and up to life behind bars.
Flaherty also admitted he sent child pornography over the Internet, a charge with a five-year minimum sentence.
Formal sentencing is set for January 3, 2008.

This man received 12 and a half years in prison with 5 years probation. When will our judicial system realize that these pedophiles are incapable of stopping this behavior. When they are caught and released, they’re just more careful the next time. Some poor child will end up dead so that their secret won’t be revealed. It’s a shame. Once identified as a pedophile, these people should be jailed for life! They are born this way! Our children have to be better protected.
I grew up with this person. He has prior history of conspiracy to commit bank robbery, but his family paid the gov’t off to lower the conviction to a misdemeanor. By doing so he was able to be obtain employment with the city as a firefighter. May be if his family let him fall on his own, he would have spent a little time in the slammer and when he got out, he would have walked the right path. I guess he didn’t learn from the past.

I dont know who you are but I also grew up with this man and I know him better then ANYONE does… yes as a young adult he did some not so great things but you obviously dont know him like you say you do cause he has NEVER committed bank robbery… Yes, he did commit some lame crimes but were all drug induced and has been clean and sobor since then and has a very committed life with a family of his own! Please get your facts right before you speak and realize that not everything you hear on the news is the truth! It is a disgrace to have gone to high school with you cause obviously that is how you know him which means you know me! If you want facts then ask otherwise shut the hell up!
